The Palazzo far exceeded my expectations. My surprise started immediately on entering the front door and finding a large open lobby decorated with family memorabilia on wine and olive oil production. It was truly a family museum. The Superior room was enormous and equally decorated with memorabilia. The owner, who lives on the upper floor, cheerfully explained the Palazzo history and offered valuable suggestions on restaurants and things to do. I cannot forget to mention one of the best breakfasts I have ever encountered in a hotel. Enza, who managed our breakfast, created a large buffet of breakfast items, but then delivered multiple platters of additional items to our table outside in the garden. One item was a melange of fruit pieces assembled to look like a palm tree on a beach. The location was good for me, but might not be ideal for guests who focus only on Gallipoli. Alezio is only a few kilometers from Gallipoli and did not have the traffic problems that we found in Gallipoli during the daytime. Parking is reserved in the street in front of the hotel.

This place is so lovely! The building, the rooms, the breakfast were marvelous and the host Salvatore made us feel very welcome and exceeded our expectations. On check-in Salvatore gave us a list of nearby beaches, restaurants and places of interest which was super helpful. He even gave us access to sunloungers and a parasol at a nearby fancy beach club for free! (which would have been 50 euros each for the day). He also recommended and booked a boat trip about an hour away from the hotel which he promised was beautiful and it was! Honestly the best boat trip I've ever been on. A luxurious small boat which only had 2 other couples on the trip (so we had plenty of space) and the opportunity to spend the afternoon sailing between rock faces, snorkeling, paddle boarding and exploring caves. It was bliss!

Perfection has a name and it is called Palazzo Castriota. Rarely have I slept in a place where everything, really every single detail, is right: a monumental building renovated with taste and style by Salvatore Castriota, a descendant of the former owner, who runs the place with passion and a sharp eye for detail. It was like sleeping in a museum: this Palazzo is an ode to the past, while being equipped with the most modern techniques. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, had a most comfortable bed and even a pillow menu. Also the breakfast was incredible, with fresh fruit and all sorts of homemade delicacies. But what we liked most of all, was the warm welcome by Salvatore himself. Grazie mille!

Warm and friendly welcome. Salvatore (owner/manager) was extremely helpful and friendly, had good suggestions and assisted with bookings etc. Enza served a superb breakfast and kept topping up with coffee and fruits with a genuine smile and a chat. She was like a family member. This old building is impressive and Salvatore has done an incredible job doing it up and it is very stylishly decorated. Easy parking for rental car. Short drives to Gallipoli, beaches and neighbouring towns and villages, although not an awful lot happened in Alezio itself.

Concept and style of the B&B is extraordinary; modern interior in a former wine and oil production hall, very exciting! The room was fantastic including the small but well equipped bathroom. The entrance hall is just breathtaking!! Great breakfast buffet and in addition Salvatore prepares also special creations out of fruits every morning. Also, we benefited greatly from Salvatores tips for Restaurants and things to do! Thanks for the great experience in your lovely place Salvatore!
